Storage Solutions

Babies arrive with little more than belly button fluff. But before long, the ‘stuff’ that they need to clean, feed, clothe and entertain them piles up.

Taking time to think about and plan your current and longer term storage needs avoids expensive mistakes. An organised room will feel calm, uncluttered and be simpler to tidy.  Here are some ideas:

Nappies
Nappy stackers are a stylish space saver and tie to the end or side of the cot/cot bed. You can store your nappies, wipes and nappy bags inside.  Baskets are always an attractive way to store nappies but take up more space. Store them in a changing station or push the baskets under the cot.

Books
By their 3rd birthday you could start their own library. Toddlers love to choose their own story at bedtime, so a free standing bookcase (fixed to the wall) is the best long term option. You can always use the empty shelves at the start for displaying toys.

Toys
Baskets, personalised bags, toy chest, totes. You’ll need storage for toys too, it’s amazing how even the tiniest of babies amass vast quantities of cuddly toys and so on. Keep them in little baskets or totes so they’re easy to move round the house with the baby during the day.

Keepsakes
Provide space for your child’s growing collection of keepsake gifts, treasures and things they collect as they grow. This can build happy memories to look back on. A high shelf will be perfect for breakables and toys that can be played with can go in easy reach baskets or a bookcase.

Toiletries
A changing unit is the traditional option but you’ll only use this type of furniture for a year or so. Think about using baskets on top of a chest of drawers for easy access or the shelf at the top of the wardrobe. Just make sure they’re out of reach of little hands.

Coats and bags
A coat hook at your child’s height will encourage them to hang up their stuff as they grow. Check out our cool storage hooks, children can move the hooks around the maze if you mount it at a lower height in a playroom or bedroom.

Most importantly
Think about the future, your child’s storage needs will change as they grow older, plan ahead and save money.

With smart storage, tidying up becomes simple. You can locate exactly what you need, when you need it. Your nursery will feel calm and uncluttered, enabling you to focus your energies on playing and caring for your baby, not getting stressed looking for the lost nappy cream or Calpol.
